This is where you fix a term in years and mileage. Your monthly payments are based on the difference between the cost of the vehicle after discount and the residual value, i.e. what the vehicle is worth at the end of the agreed term. You are essentially funding the vehicle's depreciation. In this case you are not opting for ownership of the vehicle; it is returned at the end of the lease. For companies some benefits are that,the asset is off balance sheet and is treated as a rental rather than a depreciating asset and there is no residual risk at the end of the term.
